There are many ways to financially contribute to the ministries at ERMUC. in many cases outlined below, you may indicate where you would like your donation directed. All non-specified donations will go to the General Fund.
Donate by Pre-Authorized Remittance
By signing up for PAR, your donation is automatically withdrawn on a monthly basis from your bank account or credit card. Complete the PAR form on the attached link and submit the form by mail or hand deliver to the ERMUC office. Click here to download the PAR Registration Form.
Donate by Electronic Transfer (eTransfer)
A simple and quick way to support the church is by e-transfer to an email set up by Edith Rankin Memorial United Church to receive payments and donations online.
From your on-line banking page, select e-transfer, set up Edith Rankin Memorial United Church as a recipient using this email address: churchoffice@ermuc.ca, Now you can select the amount you wish to transfer. In the message section please include your name and where you would like your donation directed. All non-specified donations will go to the general fund.
Use the Offering Plate
Use the Offering Plates on Sunday, or Mail or drop off your donation by cheque or money order directly to the church

Please include your name, address and phone number. Please provide your envelope number if you have one. Postdated cheques are welcome.

Use this Canada Helps button to donate. Select the area you would like to fund from the pulldown list. Fill in your donor information on the form. Fill in the payment information. Click on Complete Donation. Note that Canada Helps offers a suggestion for donors to cover the administration costs.
Donate Stocks (equity)
Ask your Broker / Financial Advisor about the Equity /Securities Transfer Form.
Donating appreciated publicly traded securities in Canada can save you money on taxes by eliminating the capital gains tax you would normally pay if you sold them first, while still giving you a donation tax credit based on the full fair market value. For example, a donor who bought shares for $2,000 that are now worth $10,000 can avoid a capital gains tax on the $8,000 gain if they donate the shares directly. Instead of paying tax on the gain, they receive a tax credit based on the $10,000 fair market value, resulting in a larger overall tax saving compared to selling the shares and donating the cash proceeds.
