Sun. 25 Nov: Fellowship Breakfast (monthly),

One of ERMUC’s signature programs is our monthly Fellowship Breakfasts on the fourth Sunday morning of every month. Enjoy a great breakfast starting at 8:00 a.m. followed by a guest speaker sharing something about a community program or about their life or their work or their passion or their faith or all of the above. It only costs $3 a person to defray expenses (BTW, kids under 12 eat free!) and we wrap up by 9:20 or so to give plenty of time to prepare for worship.
Sunday, November 25 – “Dancing the Circle of Right Relations”  in the Bay of Quinte Conference.  How a small group with the Bay of Quinte Conference worked to spread Truth and foster Reconciliation in church communities over the last dozen years. Shelley Knott Fife, an Anishnaabekwe residing in her home community of Curve Lake First Nation, is honoured to be mom to a 27 year old son, DJ and a 21 year old daughter, Jaime.  She has a career in First Nation education, spanning 20 years in capacities ranging from being a First Nation’s Education Manager, to being a provincial school board consultant, to her current role as an education specialist with Indigenous Services Canada (formerly Indian Affairs).  With a Masters degree in Special Education, her passion, in particular, is understanding a child’s individual gifts.

Sat. 8 Dec: Workshop to prepare for calling a minister, The Ministry and Personnel Committee is hosting a workshop on Saturday, December 8th that you may be interested in attending - either for the morning session, the afternoon session, or both. Rev. David Timpson, the Conference Personnel Minister for the Bay of Quinte Conference for the United Church of Canada will be the Workshop leader. Wed. 9 Jan: Epiphany Study Series begins: 8 weeks, "The Perils and Possibilities of Being Church" provides the theme for an 8-week Wednesday evening adult bible study beginning Wednesday, January 9 at 7 p.m. in the Upper Room, led by Rev. Dr. Wayne Soble. When it comes to the Apostle Paul, people either love him or hate him but his letters have shaped the church for over 2000 years and they may still contain important clues for how to be church in our time and place. This series will rummage through Paul’s old pile of correspondence looking for insights that might be useful as we undergo a time of transition down by the Bay. It’s too early for hockey playoffs. The baseball season hasn’t started yet. Dancing with the Stars is on Monday nights. Sun. 20 Jan: 59 Years 'Down By the Bay', ERMUC celebrates our 59th anniversary on Sunday, January 20. Guest preacher for the occasion will be the Rev. Trisha Elliott, currently the Intentional Interim Minister at Southminster United Church in Ottawa. In addition to being a specialist in helping congregations navigate transitions, Trisha is a truly gifted communicator, a popular writer for The Observer and has won dozens of Canadian and North American awards for her articles. She has contributed to two books and written for several newspapers. Also a recognized graphic artist, Trisha has been interviewed on CBC Radio 1 Tapestry, and was recently guest religion podcaster at the National Arts Centre. In 2012 she spearheaded the largest Facebook based Bible study in North America with over 1800 participants. In 2016 Trisha was awarded the Queen’s School of Religion (Queen’s Theological College) Alumni Achievement Award for ministry excellence.
